'The Plantsmans Garden'
Come and join us this autumn when we open the private gardens of 'Blackwood Ridge' for the first time.
The gardens will be open this autumn: Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays, 10am to 4pm from 6th of March Labour Day long weekend, until 12thof April 2020.
The property known as 'Blackwood Ridge' was once a derelict strawberry farm, formerly named 'Rainbow Acres'.
The five-acre property was purchased twenty years ago by the current owners for its rich mountain soil, natural springs and cool climate, which presented the perfect combination to build the garden.
The main trees including the Oaks are all around twenty years old and the rest of the gardens and underplanting's are anywhere from one to twelve years old.
The gardens where designed to flow with the natural landscape and to showcase one of the region's largest plant collections including, Japanese Maples, Dogwood's, Berberis, Hydrangeas, flowering perennials, rare and dwarf garfted Conifers and a large collection of exotic ornanmental plants from Northeast Asia.
