‘Lilac Frost’ is probably the most resilient, winter-hardy, Penstemon we grow! This beautiful new and very hardy plant was collected in Mexico below the summit of Cerro Potosi, at over 3,000m where winter temperatures drop to nearly -30 C
It forms a bushy mounds of deep green foliage, enhanced by unusual bicoloured blooms of flared white trumpets, delicately brushed purple on top, open over a very long season.Lower growing than the traditional taller penstemon varieties but still with the outstanding flowering performance.
