Blackwood Ridge Gardens

Working together for over 20 years we have created a contemporary garden at the site of our former award winning Restaurant and Nursery.  The garden features a variety of ‘rooms’ . The garden holds one of the largest private plant collections in Australia, : including maples, rhododendrons, oaks, birch, witchazel, dogwoods, rare conifers and perennials. Which benefit from our location  nestled right in the heart of Wombat Forest in the Daylesford and Macedon Ranges.

The garden is occasional opened for Open Garden Victoria and charity events,.

Dan Sullivan

Former Landscape Designer

Dan has worked across three states, Victoria, NSW and Queensland on private gardens and commercial landscapes including work for Architects and Australia’s most awarded home builders.

Dans extensive background in horticulture and landscape  design has contributed to the unique design of Blackwood Ridge Gardens with practicality and sustainability with natural beauty a focus point.

James Pethybridge

Former Nurseryman and Plantsman

Although James is an awarded chef, he has always had a passion for plants with an extensive knowledge of horticulture.

James has previously owned and operated a retail plant nursery in the Macedon Ranges for 16 years and an acclaimed boutique restaurant, ‘The Garden Room’ with a focus on only using locally produced seasonal produce on the menu.

James has an insatiable interest in plants and trees and his years of horticultural knowledge which is reflected with the plantings at Blackwood Ridge.
